National Bike Week at Kilnagross N.S.
The children and teachers at Kilnagross NS had a great time celebrating National Bike Week. The junior classes were visited by local community Gardaí. They spoke to the children about Bike Safety and gave each child a high visibility vest to wear when cycling on the road. The children also learned about the work our Gardaí do in the community. They really enjoyed the visit.
On Wednesday 15th the children from 3rd to 6th class went to Lough Key Forest Park for a cycling tour of the park grounds with Séamus from Electric Bike Trails Ltd. This activity was funded by Leitrim Sports Partnership. The children and teachers also took the opportunity to put their orienteering skills to the test finding various landmarks around the park using their maps. The children had a wonderful day. The school would like to thank Electric Bike Trails and Leitrim Sports Partnership for their support in organising the event.
