Above are the prize winners from Kilnagross NS who participated in the Recent European Alliance Art Competition. In 1st place ,Oran Mc Govern with a scenic landscape depiction of Sheemore, 2nd Place Fiona McNabola with a detailed map of Ireland illustrating famous Irish landmarks and in 3rd place Lily Guckian whose drawing celebrated Irish traditional music, dance and sports.
The children each received individual prizes and the school received an iPad in recognition of participation. Kilnagross National School was nominated by Enda Stenson; EA member of the European Committee of the Regions to take part in the drawing competition.
Enda visited the school recently to present the prizes to the lucky winners. The aim of the project is to encourage children to appreciate their heritage while developing a positive outlook on Europe. The works of winners will be displayed in the European Committee of the Regions in Brussels and be reproduced into postcards and booklets.
