Bike Week in conjunction with Leitrim County Council and Sports Ireland always proves to be a successful initiative in getting our children more active and confident on their bikes. This year, all families made a huge effort in getting out on their bikes, cycling to and from school and learning about bike safety on our roads.
Our Senior Room travelled to Leitrim Village, where they cycled from the village to Kilclare and back again, stopping off on the way for some lunch in the nice sunshine. Thanks to Seamus in Electric Bike Trails for his enthusiasm and care for the children. Please see photos below:
The whole school entered an in-house art competition under our Bike Week slogan, “Why Cycle?”. We received a large number of beautiful artwork and slogans and would like to thank everyone for taking part in this competition. On the last day of Bike Week, we celebrated our bikes in style with a decorated bike parade! Enthusiasm and participation were at extremely high levels during the bike parade and the day ended on a high with prizes being presented to the lucky winners of the 2 competitions.
