A huge well done to all our amazing pupils for putting on such a fantastic Christmas Show for their families. Straw and Order brought a lot of laughter, fabulous costumes and showcased the amazing acting and singing skills of our school. The children also designed the set, so thank you to everyone who helped out with drawing and painting!
Thank you to everyone who attended on the night, to those who assisted with seating and costumes and to the Parents Association for once again organising a fantastic raffle on the night.
2 of our 6th class pupils, Tadhg and Daniel, kindly provided a report of the night:
Saint Brigid’s National School performed a Christmas play called “Straw and Order”. It was a Christmas musical play. We performed the play in front of our parents and guardians. It was performed in the school hall at 7pm. There was a massive crowd, which included parents, guardians and siblings. The buzz and excitement in the hall was brilliant.
The sixth class boys built the stage with the Principal, Mrs. McManus. The audience were swept off their feet by the performance of the pupils. They gave us a massive round of applause. The play was about the animals who were fighting over the legal possession of the stable. Every child had a different costume. The audience thought the songs were delightful. The children’s favourite song was Sheep Shimmy.
The Parents Association had a raffle. There was a great selection of prizes.
One of the school’s own students, Lyra Lakes, won the mountain bike. Lyra said “that’s amazing!”. She was very excited going home.
The parents went home full of pride and joy in their children. The children went home feeling proud and energised.
