On January 31st, St Brigids Eve, Kilnagross NS was delighted to welcome parents, grandparents and members of Kiltoghert Women’s Group to help celebrate our school patron, St Brigid. Pupils and visitors enjoyed learning to make traditional St Brigids crosses from rushes. Edwina Guckian of Áirc Damhsa Culture Club taught the children about St Brigids Day traditions and how to make the Brídeog doll.
A prayer service with readings, songs and music by the children was also celebrated. A hot cup of tea was welcomed by all our visitors, as they remained without electricity at home.
